STUDENT PROGRAMS

We recently launched two transformative opportunities for high schools students, the Student Leadership Academy and the THRIVE Institute. Students in these programs develop skills to help them thrive today and prepare them for their next steps!

THRIVE INSTITUTE

Fifty LPS high school students participated in our first THRIVE Institute this summer! The THRIVE Institute is a three day experience to help students thrive in all areas of their lives - academically, personally, professionally and as members of local and global communities.

The goal of THRIVE is to give students the opportunity to develop the skills and dispositions highlighted in the LPS Graduate Profile through fun activities, engaging and practical Real World Learning Labs and inspirational speakers. Although admittedly skeptical at first, the students loved the program, and we are already making plans for the 2023 THRIVE Institute!

Student Leadership Academy

Students from Liberty High School and Liberty North High School are nominated by their teachers to participate in a 5-day experience at William Jewell College, facilitated by Jewell’s Tucker Leadership Lab.

Students examine foundational leadership concepts such as communication, responsibility, conflict resolution and trust, develop personal skills and take a detailed personality assessment and participate in experiential activities, including a confidence-boosting climbing challenge! They also make lots of new friends and develop a greater awareness of their strengths and the strengths of others so they make a positive difference in the world.
