We are now accepting Giving Tuesday donations. All gifts will count towards school/grade totals.

Elementary students will have a competition between the grade levels at their schools to see who collects the most money. The winning grade level at each school will receive a Pajama and Candy NERDS Party!

Middle and high schools will have a friendly participation challenge between Blue Jays and Eagles. The winning birds will receive banners for their schools and our new traveling trophy!

About Giving Tuesday

You've heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday - Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and is recognized as the World's Biggest Day of Generosity!

Why WE CELEBRATE

In 2021, we eliminated the long-standing Major Saver Discount Card fundraiser and launched a Giving Tuesday initiative. We want to focus on promoting a culture of generosity within our community! It isn’t about the amount you contribute, it is about supporting your greater community, if you are able.

STUDENT INVOLVEMENT

Student involvement looks different at each level. Results will be shared as soon as we receive final totals from the bank.

ELEMENTARY: On Monday, November 27, all students will watch this short video about Giving Tuesday (created by the Foundation’s high school intern). Students will receive a special sticker to remind them to bring their coins and bills. Each grade level will have a Giving Bin for their coins and bills. Students bring their coin/bills to place in their Giving Bin on Tuesday, November 28. The winning grade level at each elementary will earn a Pajama and Candy NERD Party.

EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER: The entire ECC will celebrate Giving Tuesday on Tuesday, November 28! 100% of the proceeds stay in Liberty Public Schools. 60% stays within the ECC and 40% is designated to support all of Liberty Public Schools through the Foundation's programs.

MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL: There will be a friendly Blue Jays vs Eagles participation challenge, with the winning birds at our middle and high schools receiving a celebratory banner and NEW traveling trophy. In-person and online participation will be tallied at each school.

Where Does the Money Go?

100% of the proceeds stay in Liberty Public Schools! 40% supports all of Liberty Public Schools through the Foundation’s programs and 60% goes back to our schools. Click here to learn more about our programs.
