COMMUNITY SUNRISE SHOWCASE HIGHLIGHTS

What an incredible morning at the 2024 Community Sunrise Showcase on Tuesday, October 29! It was a joy to celebrate Liberty Public Schools alongside our community of supporters, students and educators.

From an opening performance by Ellen Sheeley and Joshua Lively, previewing Liberty High School’s fall musical Anything Goes, to district updates from Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Tucker, each moment captured the dedication and passion driving our schools forward. A big thank you to the Liberty North High School Culinary Arts Program for a delicious breakfast that showcased our students’ culinary talents.

Foundation highlights included a video of the Great American Eclipse earlier this year, during which the Foundation provided ISO-certified glasses for all students and staff members to safely view the event. Another video shared specific ways the Foundation is enriching educational experiences throughout the district. Attendees enjoyed a special performance from members of the Liberty Middle School 6th Grade Orchestra, who played a song they learned alongside talented violinist Diana Ladio last month.

The program wrapped up with a spooky surprise! Liberty Middle School and Heritage Middle School students who received a Foundation grant to create custom Halloween costumes for the nonprofit organization, Rockin’ and Rollin’ joined us for a special presentation. Cora, a Shoal Creek student who dreamed of being Slappy from the Goosebumps series, rolled out in her impressive costume as the curtain rose. Finally, the Liberty North High School Drumline sent guests off energized for the day!
